Privacy Policy

ServMe Computers, a division of ServMe IT (NZBN 9 4290 4705 0518), respects your privacy and handles personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This page explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

What we collect

• Account and order details: your name, email, phone number, delivery address, and what you order.
• Trade account applications: business name, contact details and any information you give us about your business.
• Messages: what you send us through the contact and trade forms or by email.
• Payment information: card payments are handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment, but never your full card number.
• Website usage: pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected through cookies and Google Analytics.

Why we collect it

• to process, deliver and support your orders, and handle returns and warranty claims;
• to run your account, including trade pricing;
• to reply to your enquiries;
• to meet our legal and tax obligations; and
• to understand how the website is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information. We don't send marketing emails unless you've asked us to.

Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to provide our service:

• Stripe to take card payments;
• Ingram Micro and courier companies to supply and deliver your order, which means passing on your name, delivery address and contact details;
• Our email and hosting providers to send order emails and run the website;
• Google Analytics for website usage statistics; and
• our internal order notifications, which tell us when a new order arrives.

Some of these providers (including Stripe and Google) store information on servers outside New Zealand. We only use providers that have appropriate privacy protections in place.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember what's in your cart; the site won't work without them. Analytics cookies from Google Analytics help us see how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the cart and sign-in need essential cookies to work.

How long we keep it

We keep order and payment records for 7 years to meet tax and accounting requirements. Other information is kept only as long as it is needed for the purposes above.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords and restricted staff access. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and to correct it if it is wrong. You can also ask us to delete your account, although we must keep order records for the period above. To make a request, email or use our contact page.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, tell us first and we'll do our best to put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
